Our Story
Slaqa Salon

Founded in 2015 by Ndumiso Chiya in Waterloo, Durban, Slaqa Salon was built from the ground up - no backing, no shortcuts, just skill and a community that believed in the work.

What started as a single chair in a self-built shelter has grown into a three-branch beauty and lifestyle brand operating across Waterloo, KwaMashu, and Umlazi - serving thousands of clients across greater Durban.

Slaqa is more than a barbershop. Alongside professional hair and beauty services, the brand operates Slaqa Cosmetics - with its Beard Qabunga product now stocked in Pick n Pay Express and Shield Healthcare - as well as Nambita Café and the Waterloo Runners community club.
